The passenger who died on an Air France flight to Boston suffered a heart attack, according to the airline which also said a doctor intervened on board.

Massachusetts State Police troopers on Tuesday responded to an unattended death aboard an Air France flight from Paris to Boston Logan International Airport.

“Air France confirms that a passenger on flight AF334 from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Boston on January 14, 2025 suffered a heart attack during the flight,” a spokesperson for Air France said in a statement.

“Despite the intervention of a doctor on board, mobilized and assisted by the crew, the customer could not be rescued,” the airline spokesperson added. “Air France reminds that its crew members are regularly trained to handle these kinds of situations.”

The nearly 8-hour flight arrived at around 5 p.m. at Gate E6, according to flight records.

“Air France regrets this sad event and expresses its sincere condolences,” the airline spokesperson said.

State Police on Tuesday said the matter was under investigation, and the identity of the dead passenger would not be released “until appropriate notifications to the persons loved ones are made.”
